We have a 14yearold girl (born 5 5 90)
who has been living with us since July 21, 2004.
When she was 3 months old, that was the first time she was taken out of the home due
to a fight between the parents. The father used his 3 month old to hold in front of him a shield.
(The mother was coming after him with a knife.)
She again was taken out of the home on 4 2 91, because of the danger of physical harm.
She stayed in foster care until 10 30 92. Home visits indicated that she spent a lot of time in her playpen.
In the summer of 1993, there were numerous people caring for the children.
There were 6 children in the family.
Mom was associating with people that were heavily involved in drugs and alcohol.
Mom got involved with a sexual perpetrator (9 1 93) who called social services and asked them
to take the kids. Mom was not home for at least 2 days and “the boyfriend” had no idea where she was.
They stayed in care for 1 year 3 months. She took 2 of her girls back but did not want ours.
She said she had too many behavioral problems.
In and out of foster care, her previous foster parents observed many problematic
behaviors, noncompliance, aggression, temper tantrums, and an inability to cooperate with other children or adults.
Admitted to Bellin Psychiatric Center on 6/5/95. She has been in and out of Winnebago Mental Health and Bellin.
She was readopted when she was 7 and has been in and out of hospitals.
Now 7 years later, her adoptive parents are questioning if they can keep her any longer.
That is how she came to live with us.
