Christopher came to live at our home because of neglect in his family,
in May of 2002 at the age of 6. He has several brothers and sisters that went into other homes at the same time.
He had been very sheltered so EVERYTHING was a new adventure…from taking a bath to sleeping in a bed.
He has a smile that will melt your heart and make you smile even when he is in trouble.
His greatest joy has been learning to ride a bike without training wheels.
He now rides his bike 365 days a year no matter what the weather and he can ride for HOURS.
He has worn out 2 bikes so far and is on his 3rd one.
The first summer here was spent learning to run and getting coordination playing on the trampoline.
We also had him take swimming lessons. In the beginning, I couldnt get the choke hold off my neck,
after several years of lessons he will go under the water and swim by himself.
He enjoyed home visits, but was ignored in favor of the youngest child at the time.
His next greatest love is 4wheeling, then fishing and staying at the cabin.
He is a great worker and really likes to please. In school he has very low social skills and really
doesnt know how to play with other kids. He is a great speller and usually gets a 100% every week,
and that is without studying. To get schoolwork done is a real challenge.
He loves to read before he goes to bed and then he enjoys listening to music to fall asleep.
He likes watching old time movies and his favorite one to watch is Chitty, Chitty, Bang, Bang.
He could watch that 5 times a day for several days in a row. He also loves to argue about EVERYTHING.
Christopher is now up for adoption and we are considering it very strongly.
But when we took in Christopher, he was our very first foster child.
We received our license the same day he came to our home.
We thought he was only going to stay for a couple months…surprise.
