Ben came into treatment foster care (TFC) four years ago.
He was 8 years old. He was removed due to various abuses and neglect,
which caused his behavior to escalate in inappropriate ways.
He is a wonderful boy who has struggled with anger management, feelings of loss and inadequacy,
and especially jealousy towards others when he is not the center of attention.
Through counseling and structure, loving home, along with limited, controlled biological family involvement,
he has excelled. He is now able to read and write and is almost at grade level.
He loves sports, has learned social manners and is able to communicate better,
thereby allowing him friendships with children his own age. He likes to bike, skateboard, run, and wrestle.
(His quilt block is of a wrestling mat.) He has learned about good sibling and parent interaction,
household chores, and responsibilities.
His goal is to graduate from high school and to enter the U.S. Army.
He has come SO FAR in four years and we pray he will continue to do well.
